Now in its third generation, the BMW X5 has come a long way, and - today - it's focused on the demands of prestige SUV buyers: space, comfort, practicality and style. And it does a pretty decent job on all those fronts. Plus, it's one of the roomiest, and most accessible cars in its class. Its quality of finish is also excellent, though it's - arguably - not quite up to the standards of competition such as the Mercedes GLE, the latest Audi Q7, Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne.
