On the used car market, modern Astons look a little more affordable but running costs for these luxury sportscars can still be considerable. The DB7 was a successful model for Aston Martin sold between 1994 and 2003. Kicking off with a 355bhp supercharged straight-six engine, the DB7 is one of the more common second hand cars carrying the Aston badge. The V12 Vantage models were launched in 1999.
In 2001, the stunning Vanquish supercar was launched which also had V12 power and in 2005, the Vanquish S boosted that engine's output to 515bhp.
2004 saw the DB7 replaced by the elegant DB9 which uses a 470bhp version of the Aston Martian V12. Pre-owned examples are around in good numbers but the 2005 V8 Vantage is an even easier way to buy a used Aston Martin. The Vantage is based on the same underpinnings as the Jaguar XK of the same period but many buyers were happy to pay the premium to get access to the prestigious Aston badge.
Aston Martin used cars will always be a rare and exclusive prospect on the used second hand market but few car brands can match the style and heritage that accompanies them.
