With its close links to the Ford Motor Company, Mazda has access to some high class vehicle platforms and advanced engines but it would be wrong to think of marque's recent models simply as rebadged Fords. Mazda has cleverly chosen which technology to borrow, being careful to give all of its cars their own identity.
Used car buyers have a wide selection of highly competent Mazdas to choose from, the most iconic of which has to be the MX-5 roadster. This car is very much Mazda's own work and has been hugely popular throughout its various generations. This was the car that shucked off the gimmicky styling and did what BMWs have always done best - concentrated on the engineering and let form follow function. The results have been spectacularly effective and are a testament to sticking to what you're best at. Used examples are now appearing in decent numbers but they do hold their value well despite industry mutterings of oversupply harming the car's so-called exclusive image.
