8 I have received cold calls from varios companies The Answers: They keep calling - The telephone marketing company (usually with a car orientated name) have large telesales teams who scour car websites and magazine for people who are advertising their cars. They will use the car advert to obtain the seller's phone number. They will then use this number to call the seller direct and then promote the vehicle advertising services that they provide. The chances are extremely high that you will be contacted by one of these companies and they will strongly claim to be able to sell your car. Some will even "guarantee" a buyer! In fact they will say anything to make you part with your hard earned cash! IF.. Do not use them - If you have received these types of calls we suggest as a golden rule not to utilise the services that these telephone vehicles marketing companies are offering. Mask your Telephone Number -You can select not to have your actual telephone number displayed with your advert. Instead you can have your number masked. If you have not already selected this option then login to the MyAccount area and click the 'Amend your advert' button. Near the bottom of the page is the option to mask your telephone number.
