60 years! Yep, that's how long this classic car's been around, in one form or another - it first appeared in 1957. Today, of course, as with pretty much every car that's been around a while, it's a different animal, at least in performance and features, if not in size. Take, for example it's entry-level 1.2L petrol engine. It would be an exaggeration to call it fast, but it's certainly no sluggard, with an energetic feel to it, though if you're the kind who likes a bit more oomph, you might want to check out the more powerful 0.9 Twinairs. As to cabin room, the Fiat 500 is obviously designed to be compact and space-efficient, but the front seats can nonetheless accommodate pretty long-legged passengers if you slide the seat back, and although there are only two rear seats, 2 adults will still fit in comfortably. Despite it's diminutive size, though, don't run away with the idea that this is necessarily a cheap car, because it's not. It's possible to spend a lot of money on one, if you go for the pricey options and trims. On the other hand, its pedigree and desirability mean that it will hold on to its value considerably better than many of its competitors.
