I haven't had my Vauxhall Astra long but am quite impressed so far. Ride is smooth, and easy to drive on the school run. Not as convinced on the motorways, can be a little sluggish. Equipment good, interior comfortable, and seems to be of good quality. Fuel consumption is ok. Vauxhall Astra is a not bad car at all.

I've just reluctantly sold my Vauxhall Astra 1.7 TD Estate for what I paid for it 6 months ago. Have almost got the money to buy another which I will do ASAP! The Mk 4 can be bought in vgc for less than a grand! Big, powerful cheap to run

Vauxhall Astra 1.4I 16V CLUB (2009) - Consumer review A Decent All Rounder
My Vauxhall Astra always provides a comfortable ride. The gearbox is decent enough and instrument controls are laid out in a good way. The fuel economy leaves something to be desired but the overall drive is nice enough. The engine set up could do with being a little more powerful as at times I am afraid to overtake on the motorway for fear of being embarrassed. Don’t let this take anything away from the fact that the Vauxhall Astra is a very good and reliable car which is why it continues to be Vauxhall’s best selling model.

One or two niggling faults on my Vauxhall Mk 5 astra-CD player comes on during the night, clutch judder when cold and some throttle problems.

This car is really good, i have had this car since 2008, so it was only 3 years old when i purchased it! it has a very smooth drive and pulls out a lot of mileage!
